With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Russell F. Bunn, affectionately known as "Russ," 59 of Bristol, loving father and cherished friend, who passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 12, 2024 following a tragic car accident.
Russell was born on December 28, 1964 in London, England son to the late David and Mavis (Smith) Bunn. Growing up in London, Russ moved to the United States at the age of 25 to start a family. Russell's life was filled with love and devotion, with his proudest moment being the birth of his two children. Throughout his life, Russell showed his kind and gentle nature to his family and friends, always putting their needs above his own and was quick to lend a helping hand without being asked. He was a beacon of strength and support for his children, who will forever carry the legacy of his love and guidance.
Russ was a dedicated individual who spent over a decade of his life working tirelessly for Keep America Beautiful, striving to make the world a better place. His passion for environmental causes was evident in all aspects of his life, and he continued this mission through his work with Home Depot and Amazon. While at Home Depot, Russell was a valued member of the MET team for over 10 years, contributing to various projects across different locations in the state. His commitment to his work was unwavering, and his positive attitude left a lasting impact on all those he crossed paths with. In his most recent role at Amazon as a Warehouse Associate and Ambassador, Russ went above and beyond, traveling extensively throughout the United States to support the company in various capacities. His dedication and work ethic earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and customers alike. Russ was always eager to seek new experiences and destinations to explore. His career afforded him the opportunity to indulge in his passion for traveling, allowing him to cross off many places from his bucket list.
Russell was well-known for his passion for thrifting and the treasures he found in secondhand shops, often sharing his finds with others. His eye for unique items and vintage pieces brought him joy and memories he cherished. Russ had a talent for nurturing his vegetable garden and coaxing life from the soil, earning him a reputation as someone with a natural green thumb. He was an avid book reader and devoted animal lover, with a special fondness for dogs, as he always expressed his deep affection for his grand-dogs. In addition, he was a devoted at-home mechanic with a passion for fixing things himself. Russ enjoyed spending time tinkering with tools, always seeking to solve any technical challenge that came his way. He led a life filled with simple pleasures, finding joy in his amateur photography pursuits, listening to various types of music, and quoting his favorite movie "The Blues Brothers."
Russ was known for his infectious humor and love for sharing corny dad jokes, a trait that endeared him to all who knew him. Russell's passing has left a void in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. As we reflect on the impact he had on our lives, we are reminded of the joy and laughter he brought into every room he entered.
Russell is survived by his children, Emma Bunn, of Plainville, and Connor Bunn, of Bristol; his former spouse and mother of his children, Kimberly Bunn, of Bristol; his brother, Ashley Bunn, of Sussex, England; his sister, Rowena Thomas and her husband, Ian, and their children, Sarah and Laura, all of Sussex, England; his former brother-in-law, Raymond C.
