Russell Vincent Castelletti, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away on October 22, 2025, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Born on June 8, 1954, in Brooklyn, New York, Russell grew up in Patchogue, New York and was the cherished son of Allesandro and Margaret Castelletti (née Maniscalco). He grew up surrounded by the warmth of his family, with two older brothers, Stanley and Charlie, and two younger siblings, Donna and Steven.
From a young age, Russell harbored a remarkable ability to bring joy to those around him. His infectious laughter and vibrant spirit illuminated every room he entered, making him a true light in the lives of many. This passion for humor and connection carried through his life, shaping his relationships and interactions with family and friends.
Russell was a devoted father to his sons, Mitchell and Vincent. He loved them dearly and dedicated himself to ensuring they had the opportunities they needed to thrive. His commitment to parenting was evident in the values he instilled in them, particularly his profound love for animals, which he shared generously with his children.
Throughout his varied career, Russell explored numerous paths, proudly working as a model, actor, flight attendant, detective, and National Hockey League official. His adventurous spirit and determination allowed him to accomplish so much in each of these roles. He lived life on his own terms, embracing challenges while supporting others.
Russell is survived by his sons, Vincent Castelletti, Mitchell Castelletti, and his siblings, Donna Castelletti and Steven Castelletti. He is preceded in death by his parents, Allesandro and Margaret Castelletti, as well as his brothers, Stanley and Charlie.
A ceremony to honor Russell's life was held at Roselawn Cemetery in Roseville, Minnesota. The interment took place on October 27, 2025. In this time of loss, we celebrate the cherished memories left by Russell and the impact he has made in the hearts of those who knew him.
