Pete was born naturally to this earth on October 22, 1939 to Ballard and Annie (Mauk) Davidson. Then, through an extraordinary plan that only God could have overseen, he was born again through salvation into the family of God, on August 2, 2025. In that instant, his countenance changed and peace filled his soul.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nellie (Martin) Davidson; parents, Ballard and Annie (Mauk) Davidson; grandchildren, Russell (Dewaynie) Manis and Jessica Davidson; brothers, Bud Davidson, Charlie Davidson, Ken Davidson, Jack Davidson; sisters, Helen Davidson and Nellie (Sis) Young.
He is survived by his son, James Russell Davidson (Vickie) of Rogersville; daughter, Elizabeth Justice (Robert) of Surgoinsville; grandchildren, Rebecca Chandler (Michael) of Rogersville, LeighAnn Kistner (Jamie) of Surgoinsville, Sherylene Davidson of Surgoinsville, and Branduff Manis (Carrie) of Surgoinsville; great-grandchildren, Kimberly McNutt (Matt) of Surgoinsville, Allison "Alli" Adkins (Lucas) of Surgoinsville, Paige Smith of Rogersville, Micah Smith of Surgoinsville, Brooke Kistner of Surgoinsville, Taylor Lawson (Trevor) of Mt. Carmel, Bradley Kistner of Surgoinsville, Isaac Chandler of Rogersville, and Lakin Smith of Surgoinsville; great-great grandchildren, Kaisleigh, Ryker, Easton, and Stetson McNutt of Surgoinsville and Hadley Johnson of Rogersville; step-grandchildren, Anjella Manis, Tony Manis and Christina Manis of Surgoinsville; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm with Rev. David Roller officiating. Music will be provided by Debbie Barrett. Graveside service will be held Friday, August 8, 2025 at 11:00 am in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Anyone who wishes to follow in funeral procession is asked to meet at Christian-Sells Funeral Home by 10:15 am on Friday.
Pallbearers will be Branduff Manis, Isaac Chandler, Bradley Kistner, Jamie Kistner, Michael Chandler, and Jeff Alley.
