Russell B. Dixon, wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to everyone, at age of 58 received his wings on January 16, 2022 in Venice, Florida.
Born in Sarasota, FL as a 5 generation native of Sarasota of the forefathers that founded Sarasota and descendants of the Whitakers. Russ is survived by his "love of his life" Edie of 31 years; two daughters, Crystal (Richard) and Marissa. He also leaves behind six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
An avid outdoorsman that loved everything to do with being outside, fishing, hunting, boating, mudding, camping and BMX racing (with his granddaughter).
Russ opened his own business in 1996 where he treated his clients like family instead of a customer. Russ will be missed by so many that loved him dearly.
A visitation will be held at Farley Funeral Home in Venice on Sunday, January 23, 2022 from 9:00AM-10:00AM with the funeral service to follow. A graveside service will be held at Palms Memorial Park in Sarasota. A Celebration of Life Service will be held later that day at Oscar Scherer State Park from 2:00PM-5:30PM.
Farley Funeral Home in Venice is handling the arrangements. A message of condolence may be sent to the family by visiting www.farleyfuneralhome.com.
