Mr. Russell Neal "Rusty" Drake

Rusty Neal Drake, 63, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday (May 9th, 2024) in Union County. Rusty was born on April 3rd, 1961 in Union county to the late Joe Neal Drake, and the late Colon Kiker Wofford. Rusty was a former poultry farmer and currently employed by the NC Department Of Transportation. He was also a member of Midland Masonic Lodge #618.
Survivors include his loving wife, Karen Greene Drake; three daughters, Tabitha Drake of Monroe, Kelsey Drake Hill and husband Taylor Hill of Monroe and Jessica Drake Carriker and husband Kenton Carriker of Monroe; Two sisters, Joheliah Drake Wilson of Stanfield, and Robin Drake Black and husband, David Black of Wadesboro; one brother Todd Drake of Stanfield; 6 grandchildren, Colby Hildreth, Taylor Hildreth, Cameron Hildreth, Reagan Carriker and twin Carriker girls.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and granddaughter Kenzley Nicole Carriker.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Rusty Neal Drake will be conducted at 4:00 Saturday, May11th, at Mill Creek Baptist Church. Masonic graveside rites will follow. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm-3:45pm Saturday afternoon, May 11th,2024 at Mill Creek Baptist Church in Monroe.
