Russell C. Gehrum

Russell C. Gehrum, 80, of Metuchen, passed away on November 4, 2025, at Brighton Gardens in Edison. He was born in Plainfield on July 20, 1945. Russell was a retired Sergeant from the Metuchen Police Department. He was a volunteer for the Metuchen Fire Department and Metuchen First Aid Squad. Russell served in the US Navy and the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was a member of the Metuchen-Edison Historical Society and was a Board Member of the Thomas Edison Center of Menlo Park. He was passionate about model trains and was a member of the NJ Live Steamers.
Russell was predeceased by his brother, John Gehrum.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret (nee Casey) Gehrum, of Metuchen; two cousins: Albert Gehrum and Robert Dunn.
Visitation will be on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen, NJ 08840. Cremation and burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Russell's memory may be made to the Metuchen Edison Historical Society or the Thomas Edison Center at Menlo Park.
