Russell Paul Harrell, 70, of Greenwood, Indiana, passed away on March 14, 2025. He was born in Indianapolis on June 2, 1954, to Russell Edward Harrell and Lela Ruth "Billie" Harrell.
Russ earned his Bachelors Degree from Indiana University Bloomington. He retired as a regional sales manager for HD Supply in 2024. While at IU, Russ rode in the Little 500 for the Phi Psi fraternity for three years.
Retirement gave him the opportunity to play more golf, fish, and roam around Indiana to flea markets and antique shops, to the tunes of the great rock and roll bands from the 60s, 70s and 80s. His collections were eclectic: fedoras, guitars, office knives, Cross pens, shoes, marbles
Russ is survived by his sisters: Sally (Phil) Dilley, Susan (Bob) Schatz, and Sara, and nephew David Schatz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Billie Harrell, and his beloved, funny, dedicated Labrador Retriever Bear.
Russ' life will be celebrated on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 2:30 to 4:30 at G. H. Herrmann Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1605 South State Road 135, Greenwood, Indiana. Friends and family may gather to continue to share stories and celebrate Russ' life at Dye's Walk Country Club following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Russ will be laid to rest in the Gardens at Olive Branch Cemetery and Mausoleum Park.

I´m so sad to hear of Russ´s passing. I worked for him at Triangle Pacific in Charlotte years ago. I always thought very highly of him. He was one of those people that you just didn´t forget no matter how many years passed by. Condolences to his family.
