Russell Lee Lamb May 23, 1948 – September 7, 2025
It is with great sadness and profound love that the family announces the passing of Russell Lee Lamb in Hendersonville, Tennessee, on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the age of 77, surrounded by his devoted family.
Russell was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie Lamb; his wife, BeLinda Lamb; his son, Douglas Goforth; and his granddaughter, Rebecca Scarbrough.
Russell is survived by his loving children: Shannon Lopez, Patrick Doyle, and Crystal Risberg. He was a cherished grandfather to Michael O’Neal, Austin Scarbrough, Cheyanne Scarbrough, Katrina Gavilan, Ceili Wiggs, Clara Risberg, Michelle Myers, Katie McCarthy, Felicia Riggs-Shinkle, Charlie Goforth, Cayden Doyle, and Jaxson Doyle, as well as several great-grandchildren.
Russell was a devoted husband, father, Papaw, and friend. A retired Gunnery Sergeant (GySgt) of the United States Marine Corps, he served his country with honor and dedication. In retirement, Russell enjoyed woodworking, painting, fishing, and putting together puzzles. He generously gave his time volunteering with Station Camp High School’s AJROTC, Gallatin High School’s NJROTC, and the Gallatin Senior Citizens Center. Russell was always willing to help others and brought warmth and kindness to those around him.
Russell will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his service to his country and community, and his passion for life. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and strength that will live on through his loved ones.
The light he brought into our lives will be dearly missed but will forever shine brightly in our memories.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Gallatin Senior Citizens Center.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside with visitation from 2:00-4:00 P.M.
