William Heston Sloan, 85, of Hendersonville passed away on September 17, 2025. William was born on August 21, 1940, in Pleasant Shade, Tennessee to the late Lymon and Frances Sloan.
William attended Glencliff High School. He was known for his love of fishing, a hobby that brought him joy. He had a passion for storytelling and loved sharing stories with friends and family.
Family gatherings were a cornerstone of William's life. He took great delight in celebrating holidays and family reunions. He enjoyed homemade peach ice cream—a sweet treat that became a staple of these joyful occasions. The laughter and camaraderie shared during such times exemplified the warmth and love he fostered within his family.
William is preceded in death by his parents, Lymon and Frances Sloan.
William is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Martha Sloan; his children, Bill H. Sloan and James M. Sloan; daughter in law, Cindy Stewart; niece, Mary Jane Farlow; grandchildren, Dustin and Christina Sloan, and Ashley and Hunter St. Cyr; and great grandchildren, Dustin, Annastyn, and Elijah St. Cyr.
In honor of William’s life, a visitation will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Hendersonville Memory Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation Center located at 353 E Main St, Hendersonville, TN 37075. This will be followed by a funeral service on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM, also at Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Following the service, his interment will take place at 11:00 AM.
As we remember William Heston Sloan, let us carry forward the joy he brought into our lives and the fond memories created together. He will be profoundly missed, yet his spirit will continue to shine through the many lives he touched.
