Russell Dennis Olmstead, Sr., 66, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025 at the Center for Hospice Care, Raclin House in Mishawaka.
Russell was born on August 01, 1958 in Niles, MI to the late Charles and Cosette (Ravenelle) Olmstead. He married the love of his life, Kathleen (Jurgonski), she preceded him in death. Russell is also preceded in death by a grandson, Nicholas Olmstead; sister, Leslie (Doug) Strychalski, and his brother, Richard Olmstead.
Left to cherish the memory of Russell are his children, Russell (Marla Cutter) Olmstead Jr., and Ryan (Crystal Henninger) Olmstead; grandchildren, Brady Olmstead, Lily Olmstead, Makayla Olmstead, Abby Olmstead, Grace Henninger; brother, David (Chrissy) Olmstead ; and many nieces and nephews.
Russell was member of the Bowlers Country club. He enjoyed watching racing at the South Bend Motor Speedway, Michigan Football, and his fur babies. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
A special thank you to a life-long friend, Sherri, who has been a tremendous help during these trying times.
Visitation for Russell will be 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 23, 2025 with a Funeral Service to begin at 7:00 pm in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 Mayflower Rd., South Bend, In.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Center for Hospice, Ernestine M. Raclin House.
