Russell Robinson II, of Roanoke, Virginia, was born on August 25, 1969, and went home to be with the Lord on November 16, 2025. A devoted husband, loving father, caring son, loyal brother, and faithful follower of Christ, Russell’s life was marked by generosity, resilience, and a deep love for his family.
Russell was married to the love of his life, Christal, for 34 wonderful years. Together, they built a warm and joyful home and raised their three children, whom he treasured beyond measure.
Rooted firmly in his faith, Russell lived each day with a servant’s heart. He found joy in family traditions—especially Christmas, his favorite time of year. One of the many ways he expressed his love was through cooking. Every year, he prepared a special birthday dinner for each of his children, a tradition that will remain one of their fondest memories.
Russell shared a powerful and lifelong bond with his brother, Tim. The two spent countless hours working on cars, fishing, and talking daily. Their friendship was as strong and enduring as their brotherhood.
He is survived by his wife Christal Robinson; children Justin, Caty and Brandon Robinson; brother, Tim Robinson; sisters, Chris Studebaker (Ron); Missy Church (Billy) Church; sister-in-law, Melanie Wilmoth (Robbie); and many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews. Russell was preceded in death by his sister, Sherry Robinson; his mother, Janet Castle; and his father, Russell Robinson.
He faced the challenges of his MS diagnosis with remarkable courage and grace. Throughout it all, he found comfort in his faith, his family, and the loyal companionship of his pets—especially his dog, Astro, who rarely left his side.
Russell’s presence, laughter, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of faith, devotion, and family will continue to shine through those he loved most.
