Russell Rutkowski

Russell J. Rutkowski, 65, of Harborcreek, PA passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026 after a short battle with cancer. He was born in Findley, Ohio on March 24, 1961, a son of the late Bernard and Carol (Curry) Rutkowski.

Russell graduated from Kanty Prep High School in 1979. He began his career at Hamot Hospital before proudly serving his country in the United States Army for three years. Following his military service, Russell returned to Hamot, where he dedicated over 40 years of his life, starting as a cook and eventually advancing to the role of construction support manager. He was a devoted fan of Cleveland sports, especially the Browns, Guardians, and Cavaliers, and found great joy in participating in his long-standing fantasy football league alongside many close friends. In his younger years, Russell also spent time bartending at Antlers Tavern. He was a quiet and gentle soul, Russ will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.

Russ is survived by his 104 year old grandmother, Pauline Rutkowski, siblings, Raymond Rutkowski (Tina), Beth Ann Bross (Bryan Downes), and Mary Cook, and many nieces, nephews, and good friends also survive.

Friends are inviting to Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 2607 Buffalo Rd. Erie, PA 16510 on Monday, April 6th from 3 pm until 7 pm and are invited Tuesday, April 7th to the funeral home at 9:30 am for a prayer service followed by the Funeral Mass at St. James Church at 10am.
