Russell Lee Scott, 77 of Grain Valley, formally of Lexington, Missouri passed away at Monterey Park Care Center in Independence, MO on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. We know he felt a deep sense of joy and gratitude knowing his children and grandchildren were present that day.

A graveside service will be held on November 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. There will be no memorial service at the request of Russell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Lexington VFW Post 4052 or the Cancer Assistance Relief (CAR) at Trinity United Church of Christ and can be left in care of the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral home, Lexington, Missouri. Russell was born June 15, 1948, in Carrollton, MO to Ernest and Lucille (Rodenberg) Scott. He graduated from Lexington High School in 1966 and then was drafted into the service by Uncle Sam. Russell was honored to serve in the U.S. Army, as a SP 4 (T). While in the Army he earned the NDSM EXP M-14 and AFEM Korea medals. He was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, where he was baptized. He was married to LaDonna Nichols Rasa on February 14, 2005 who survives in the home. Russell was an electrician and owner of Scott’s Electric, loved scuba diving, traveling in their camper, going to the lake and riding in Shane’s boat. He was a life member of the Lexington VFW Post 4052 and the American Legion Post 0134. Russell was a member of the Elks-Lexington MO No. 749, and a member of the Missouri Society Sons of the American Revolution- Martin Warren Chapter. Russell loved becoming a Papa and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids when his health allowed him to do so.

Survivors include Russell’s wife LaDonna Nichols Scott; four children, Chastity Nicol Wilson, (Aaron) and Shannon Lee Scott (Carrie), Shane Dale Weedman (Kim) and Chase Steven Rasa (Jill). Two brothers, James Scott and Charles (Chuck) Scott (Pat). He had six grandchildren and one great granddaughter, Tommy Scott, Beckett Rasa, Claire Rasa, Morgan Lanpher (Dalton), Connor Weedman, and Madeline Sims, Great Granddaughter, Arlington Lanpher. Russell wanted to thank his dear friend, Steve Cobb, for his many years of faithful friendship and for helping him whenever he needed help.

In addition to his parents Russell was preceded in death by his previous wife Mary Anne (Cretzmeyer) Scott.
