Ruth Marie (Hartman) Anderson, age 85, of Muir, passed away peacefully at home under the care of hospice, and her loving family on Friday, August 9, 2024. She was born on June 3, 1939, in Ionia, Michigan, daughter of Milo and Gladys May (Stull) Hartman, both of whom preceded her in death. Ruth graduated from Lyons High School with the Class of 1958 and continued her education at Lansing Community College. She worked in several capacities during her lifetime, including an accounting services firm in Lansing, the Lyons Chrysler plant and Mechanic’s Uniform Rental, in Lansing, from which she retired. Ruth enjoyed a good game of cards with family or friends and loved a trip to the casino. She cherished time with family, especially her dear grandchildren and great grandchildren and several very close friends. She had a fun-loving personality and will be missed by all who knew her.
Ruth leaves her dear family to mourn her passing including daughters, Keli D. Edmonds of Crystal, and Sheli M. Davis of Muir; grandchildren Zachary (Katy) Gilliland of Muir, Jacob (Brittanie) Davis of Eagle, Blake (Macy) Edmonds of Muir, and Devon Davis of Muir; great grandchildren Gage Gilliland (who was the apple of her eye), Tate Bradshaw, Brody Bradshaw, and Briggs Edmonds; and countless nieces and nephews, and cousins; and friends Connie Sigmon, who she always played cards with, “Aunt” Carolyn Fulcher, and her casino companion, Judy Waterman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Anderson and 8 brothers and sisters.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday, September 21, at 2:00 p.m. at the Log Cabin Inn and Banquet Center, 6484 E. Bluewater Hwy, Muir, Michigan 48860. For additional information, please contact the funeral home at (616) 794-1300.
