Ruth Ann Barrett ObituaryRuth Ann Barrett, age 83 years, of Street, MD died at 6:58 am on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD.
She was the wife of Richard A. Barrett, and they observed their 65th. wedding anniversary on May 2, 2024.
Ruth Ann was born in Baltimore, MD on January 19,1941, a daughter of the late Webster and Ruth (Crummer) Crowl. A longtime member of the Highland Presbyterian Church in Street, MD, she had served on the Board of Deacons. She spent many years with Mason-Dixon Community Services at their Highland office. Ruth Ann and Richard enjoyed numerous trips and travel throughout the United States and Europe, and spending time at the beach in Rehoboth, DE was a summer event.
Ruth Ann was an avid Bridge player and was part of a group of dedicated players who met five days a week, no matter the weather, to play.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by,
Her son, Robert A. Barrett, and his wife, Debra of Delta, PA
Her daughter, Renee A. Ford, and her husband, Keith of White Hall, MD
Two grandchildren, Haley Ford and William Ford, and his wife, Caroline
She was preceded in death by her two brothers, James Crowl and John Crowl.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025 at 1:30 pm at the Highland Presbyterian Church, 701 Highland Rd., Street, MD 21154.
The viewing will be immediately preceding the funeral service beginning at 12:30 pm.
Her pastor, Reverend Ray R. Meute, Jr. will officiate.
Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
