Ruth L. Baugh 

March 27, 1935-February 5, 2024

 

Ruth L. Baugh, 88, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Monday, February 5, 2024 at Acres of Indiana in New Carlisle, IN.

 

She was born March 27, 1935 in St. Joseph County, Indiana, the daughter of Andrew Amor and Naomi (Diedrich) Amor.

 

A lifelong resident of the area, Ruth worked in data entry for Howmet. On April 22, 1950, Ruth married the love of her life, Pete Baugh, who preceded her in death on February 1, 1996.  Along with her job, Ruth was a homemaker who loved to quilt and sew and was a member of the Pioneer quilters. Her greatest passion, though, was her grandchildren, who will miss her greatly.

 

Ruth is survived by three sons, Mike (Nancy) Baugh of CA, Rich (Wynn) Baugh of OK, Bruce (Sarah) Baugh of FL; two sisters, Eileen (Bob) King of La Porte, IN, Shirley Pickney of La Porte, IN; 22 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her sons, Jerry Baugh and Pat Baugh; her brothers, Marion Amor and Charles Pickney and sister, Betty Johnson.

 

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 from 1:00-2:00 p.m., with a service at 2:00 p.m. and burial to follow at Rolling Prairie Cemetery. 

 

Memorial contributions may be made in Ruth's name to Pioneer Land 2581 W State Rd. 2, La Porte, IN 46350, or Lewy Body Dementia Asso., www.lbda.org.
