Ruth Evelyn Burchett (Moles) passed away peacefully Saturday, December 21, 2024, surrounded by family. She was 96 years old.
Ruth was born March 30, 1928, in East Point, KY, to Bill and Rhoda Moles. Her early life was spent in the rural hills of eastern Kentucky where she excelled in her studies and her early business career before relocating to northern Kentucky with her husband and first child, Debbie.
Ruth began a career with the Visiting Nurses Association of Cincinnati in 1963. She held many valuable positions of increasing responsibility throughout her almost 50 years at the VNA. Her expertise and knowledge led her to be named to multiple leadership roles where she was well respected and a mentor to many.
She was a long-time member of the Lakeside Christian Church in Edgewood, KY and attended Southeast Christian Church regularly after relocating to Louisville upon retirement.
Ruth loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed traveling and playing cards with her friends. She became an accomplished watercolor artist in her late 80's and painted many pictures for family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Rhoda Moles; brother Kenneth; son William Burchett; grandson Matthew Sanford.
She is survived by daughter Debra Sanford, son Larry Burchett (Cynthia), daughter-in-law, Pauletta Burchett; grandchildren Aaron Sanford, Elaine Burchett McMurray (Andrew) and Bella Burchett Cunningham (Daniel) and two great grandchildren Ashton and William McMurray. Along with sister-in-law Mary Moles and her children.
The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to Brownsboro Park, The Ashton on Dorsey and Hosparus Health of Louisville for their loving care and friendship for Ruth over the years.
