Ruth Comstock, age 78, of Versailles passed away Monday, March 4, 2024, at the Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach.
It was on the 7th day of October in 1945 when Henry and Tillie (Wilson) Stepp welcomed their daughter, Ruth, into their home in Versailles.
She was married on September 4, 1966, in Versailles to Roy Comstock.
Ruth worked for Gates in Versailles when they first opened the doors. She was a hard worker and that showed in her work at Gates and in her home and how she raised her two boys.
Ruth, also known as Mima, liked to cook, watch sprint car racing (especially liked watching Roy race),  loved Hallmark movies, and hanging out with her granddaughters, Grace and Lucy. She wasn't much of a girlie girl until she had her granddaughters.  Roy and Ruth would pack up and head to Kansas City almost every other weekend just to hang out with Grace and Lucy. Ruth loved for them to do her nails, put on face masks and be pampered by them.
She also loved gardening and working in her flower bed. She grew to dislike the deer because they would mess up her hard work in the flower bed.
Most of all she enjoyed taking care of her family. She hardly ever had a hot meal because she would make sure everyone else was served before she would finally sit down to eat.  Family was first…always.
Left to carry on her legacy are her two sons, Tony Comstock of Versailles and John Comstock and wife Alette of Belton; two granddaughters, Grace and Lucy Comstock; a sister, Wanda McLain of Tipton; along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy on August 9, 2023; along with her parents.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2024, at the Scrivner-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Stover with Pastor Wayne Dinwiddie officiating. Burial will be in the Ritchie Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. on Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Ritchie Church.
