Ruth Eileen Conklin

Ruth Eileen Conklin, age 81, passed away on December 27, 2025. She was born February 11, 1944, in Butler County, Pennsylvania, to Donald Lawrence Dickie and Florence Viola Riley Dickie. Eileen was the eldest of 3 siblings. After graduating from high school, she went to beauty school and worked as a nurse's aide. She soon gave birth to Tammy, who was the light in her world. Eileen moved in with her daughter and son-in-law, Ricky, in 1997, with her daughter becoming her primary caretaker following her mother's disability. In late 2000, her grandson Aaron was born, and the burdens of Eileen's life washed away. Aaron lit up her life and ignited a spark in her, and brought her so much joy and pride. Eileen was a loving, caring person, but the thing she cared for most was her family, especially her grandson. Her favorite question that always sang throughout the family household was, "Where's Aaron?" She always wanted to know where he was and that he was okay. Eileen had a soul that was sweeter than a Hershey's Bar (which was also her favorite sweet), a heart made of gold, and a smile that lit up the room until her very last breath. The world lost an amazing human, but heaven gained an amazing angel. She will be deeply missed by her loved ones and all who knew her.

Eileen is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Ricky) Massey, grandson, Aaron Glenn Massey, and granddaughter, Meredith (Austin) Massey, as well as her brother, Herbert Charles Dickie, and sister, Fay (Harry) Dubois.

Eileen was preceded in death by her father, Donald Lawrence Dickie, and mother, Florence Viola Riley Dickie.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545. The family will receive relatives and friends immediately following the service.
