Ruth P. Musser Cooper, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully departed this life on May 16, 2025, at her residence. Born on July 7, 1941, in National City, California, Ruth lived a life rich in love, warmth, and devotion to both her family and beloved pets.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025, at Archusa Memorial Gardens in Quitman, MS at 12:00 PM.
Ruth was a woman of many passions, embracing the joys of gardening with a particular fondness for planting flowers that drew hummingbirds to her yard. Her artistic touch extended beyond her garden; she shared her life with a poodle named Cracker, followed by another poodle named Dixie, both of whom were the lights of her life. Additionally, Ruth nurtured a cat named Sassy and later welcomed Tom into her family, both of whom brought her immeasurable joy and companionship.
A devoted family member, Ruth is survived by her sons, Norman Roberts (Marsha) and David Roberts (Regina), both of Quitman, Mississippi. She was the proud grandmother to Jeff Roberts (Jennifer), Corey Roberts, and Shaela Horton (Richard) of Decatur, Mississippi. She also leaves behind her brother, Arthur Musser of Boise, ID. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Alyssa Roberts and Patton Roberts, who filled her life with pride and happiness.
She was predeceased by her father, Loren Jay Musser, her mother, Shala J. Gotham McNeil, her step-father, Robert C. McNeil, and her son, Darrin William Roberts, whose memories remain a cherished part of her family's legacy.
Known for her lively spirit, Ruth adored shopping from QVC, and her home was a testament to her vibrant personality. Ruth P. Musser Cooper will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
She had a dear love for her daughter-in-laws, Marsha and Regina Roberts, who helped her during this difficult time. They were so kind and tended to her like she was their own mother. She will forever be thankful for their help.
Pallbearers will be Norman Roberts, David Roberts, Jeff Roberts, Corey Roberts, Richard Horton and Graham Gardner
