Ruth DeWald, 88, passed away peacefully at Richmond Care Center on January 25, 2024.
Ruth was a dedicated, supportive, well loved mother and wife. Her husband and children were her number one priority. She was active in school activities and PTA.
She enjoyed reading, sewing, flowers and homemaking. Ruth also enjoyed coffee and lunches with her girls, especially Chinese food, which Pete refused to eat!
Ruth was employed at the Ottawa Herald after her youngest graduated from high school.
Survivors include her devoted husband of sixty-nine years, Pete (Richmond Care Center); daughters Roxi (Kevin) Kelly of Wellsville, Janet Worley of Ottawa, Kenna (John) of Fort Worth, Texas; son Dan DeWald (Marylou) of New Strawn; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren who she adored.
Preceding her in death include son in law Jim Worley and great grandson Simon Turner.
Plan for private graveside service at a later date.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Richmond Care Center c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
