Ruth G. Henderson

Ruth (Vickie) G. Henderson (nee Williamson), age 96, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on August 30, 2025, of Gloucester Township.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Vickie grew up in Upper Darby. She spent summers down the shore where some of her fondest childhood memories were made in Stone Harbor, New Jersey. She graduated from Upper Darby High School in 1946 where she was involved in several extracurricular activities including being selected to the May Queen court as a senior. A few years later, Vickie married Harry Henderson and eventually settled in Gloucester Township, New Jersey where together they raised five children. For over 30 years she was a beloved crossing guard for the local school district. When she retired, she enjoyed crafting, painting, reading and spending time with her grandchildren along with raising her beloved collie Prince and cats. Vickie loved football season, especially game days when she could cheer for her favorite team, the Philadelphia Eagles.

Beloved wife of the late Harry Henderson for over 30 years. Devoted mother of the late Sharon Fitzpatrick (John), Christine Yankauskas, Linda Caruso (Paul), Leigh Henderson, and of the late Randi Henderson. Beloved half-sister to Fran Williamson and Irwin Williamson Jr. Loving grandmother of 9, great-grandmother of 18, and great-great-grandmother of 4. Dear daughter of the late Ruth Tomkins (Keith) (nee Knudsen) and the late Irwin Williamson.

There will be a visitation from 9 am to 11 am on Monday, September 8th at Gardner Funeral Home, Runnemede. Memorial service 11 am at the funeral home.
