Ruth Louise Kidd

Ruth Price Kidd was born on November 28, 1927, to her proud parents Arthur James in Louise Francis Price. She graduated in 1951 from Southern University and Baton Rouge, LA with her Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Master's in Health at LSU Baton Rouge, LA in 1963. She was a teacher in the Orleans Parish School Board from 1951 to 1990. Director of Exercise seniors at Bethany 1990-2005, retired secondary school educator, New Orleans, Exercise for Srs. Program, Dir. Youth 1963. Tchr. Orleans Parish Sch. Bd., New Orleans, 1951-90. Dir, Bethany AARP (past pres., basketball. John McDonogh Sr. H.S.; recipient Svc. to Band award. Mem.: 1986-93 1997-2005, fin. sec. 2005-), Orleans Parish Sch. Tchrs. (rec. sec, retirees chpt. 1990-99, v.p. retirees chpt. 1999-2006), Sigma Gamma Rho (parliamentarian rec. sec. 1993-2005, Christian as well as an Eastern star. Ruth was proceeded in death by her parents Arthur James and Louise Price. The love of her life Wesley M. Kidd, two aunts; Anna Lee, Rachael Johnson, one uncle; Gill Minor. She leaves to cherish her only child Wesliane Kidd-Aguillard of Waukesha, Wisconsin, two grandsons Troy Paul (Ashley) of Waukesha. Wisconsin, Anthony Johnson (Ashlee) of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, three granddaughters; Wesliane Kidd of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Theresa VerVooren (Will) of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Angela VerVooren of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, six great grandchildren; Cameron Paul, Tiana Kindel, Jayden Kindel, Connor Kindel, Alora Johnson and Wayloni Kidd, one sister Lorraine Beard (Melvin, godchild; Tyieka Morris. Her faithful friend and caregiver Barbara Luedtke of Waukesha, Wisconsin, little cousin Allison Denials (Marvin) Gonzales, LA, and bonus grandkids Mary and Leelee Higgins Round of Lake, Illinois. Family and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Thursday, July 3, 2025, for 11:00 a.m. at Bethay United Methodist Church, 4533 Mendez Street, New Orleans, LA 70126.
