Ruth Kowalis Obituary
a manager/baker at Winchell's in Phoenix and as an accountant for Lakeside, Oregon Fire
Department and Yuma Golf & Country Club.
She is preceded in death by her parents Albert and Mary Sampson, her husband Donald
Kowalis, 3 brothers and 2 sisters and her son Phillip Ernest Young. Ruth is survived by her
sister Nancy Jeanne (Bruce) Bowland her children Frank Aaron (Mandy) Young, Angela Marie
Hart, Barbra Anne Young, Norma Jeanne Young, 3 sister-in-laws, 2 stepdaughters, 8
grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruth enjoyed fishing with her husband Donald Kowalis, ceramics, darts and various crafts. She
was the neighborhood mom and loved all the strays that her children brought home.
Celebration of Life will be at the Rock Church at 2555 E Gila Ridge Road Yuma, AZ 85365 on
(National Annie Day) Monday February 16th, 2026 from 11AM to 2PM.
