Ruth L. Leydig, 82 of New Paris, PA, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025.

She was born in Clearville, PA, on May 8, 1943, a daughter of the late Harry P. Chamberlain and F. Mildred (Mills) Chamberlain.

On October 11, 1979, she married Willard "Bill" Leydig.

Ruth is survived by two sisters, Glenda Wethington and Judy Smith; two brothers, Dale (Linda) Chamberlain and Ronnie (Sharon) Chamberlain; four children, Tammy (Franky Walls) Groft, Todd (Marty) Fleener, Jody (Lynn) Fleener, and Christy Fleener; 16 grandchildren, Adam, Ashley and Emily Groft, Christopher (Brooke) Rexrode, Stephanie Rexrode, and Julie Fleener, Kurt (Lauren) Crawford, Katie (Dakotah) Feathers, Corey Ackerberg, Amanda Solar, Nathan Fleener, Robby March, Crystal (Jeremy) Tate, Ashley (Matt) Bennett, Nick (Sarah) March, and Chanlar Druist; 25 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in passing by a son, Chuck Fleener; two infant brothers, Boyd and Lloyd Chamberlain; and a brother, Randy Chamberlain.

After graduating from Everett Area High School in 1961, Ruth worked at the 76 Truck Stop in Breezewood, Willow's Restaurant in Bedford, Rite Aid, where she worked her way up to manager from 1981 to 1994, and as a cook at the Gateway Travel Plaza, now Gateway Homestyle Express from 1994 until her passing.

Ruth enjoyed traveling, especially to Tennessee to see the Smokey Mountains.

She was a member of the Clear Ridge Fellowship Church.

A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
