Ruth Ann Hulon Long, 90, widow of Clarence Charles "Charlie" Long, died Thursday, October 2, 2025, at her home.

Born August 6, 1935, in Hope Mills, NC, she was a daughter of the late Norman E. Hulon and the late Lula Bell Kinlaw Hulon. Mrs. Long was a member of Harmony Church. She was active in the Jail Ministry and Homeless Ministry for many years. She retired from Belk Department Store. Mrs. Long was also a member of the Sumter Garden Club.

Survivors include one daughter, Julie Hayes (William) of Sumter; two grandchildren, Tradd Hayes, and Savannah Hayes; one brother, Grady Hulon and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Charles A. "Charlie" Long; and eight siblings, Josephine Melvin, Edward Hulon, Franklin Hulon, Herbert Hulon, Dorothy Wingate, Joseph L. Hulon, Jesse Hulon, and Lacy Hulon.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Harmony Church officiated by the Rev. Drew Choate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be William Hayes, Tradd Hayes, Benjie Hayes, Zack Hayes, Chase Hayes, and Junior Rideout.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Harmony Church and other times at her home.

Memorials may be sent to Harmony Church, 1021 Sterling Street, Sumter, SC 29153.
