Ruth Patricia Autry Lynch (Pat), age 94, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025. Born on August 2, 1930, in Griffin, Georgia, to Merrill Autry Sr. and Alma Kate Ogletree Autry. Pat lived a long and meaningful life filled with love, faith, and family. Pat was the beloved wife of the late Jack Luther Lynch and a devoted mother to her three children: Nancy Lynch Barker (Gary), Janice Lynch Edmonds (Michael), and Barry Lynch (Deidre). Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Chad Barker (Starla), Heather Edmonds Layman (Karlton), Jody Barker (Julie), Kelly Barker (Ryan), Britney Edmonds Whitmire (Chad), Brandon Lynch (Rachel), Mary Lynch, Eric Lynch, and Josh Lynch. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Kaylee Layman, Griffin Layman, Dakota Screws, Ty Screws, Payton Whitmire, Cooper Whitmire, Vaughn Lynch, and Sophie Lynch, each of whom brought her immense joy. She is also remembered fondly by her nieces Kay Burnet and Merri Crawford, and nephew Dwayne Clark. Pat's family tree extended even further to many more nieces and nephews and those who were part of the rich tapestry of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Luther Lynch; twin sons Ronald and Donald, sister Betty Autry Clark; and her brother Merrill Autrey Jr. Pat's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She loved her church deeply and found daily strength in reading her Bible and devotionals. Her spiritual devotion was evident in the warmth she extended to everyone she met, always calling others "precious" and never ending a visit without saying "I appreciate you!". A woman of simple joys and deep affection, Pat had a well-known sweet tooth and never missed a morning coffee. Her legendary carrot cake became a treasured family tradition-so beloved that it sparked playful competitions over who would get the last piece. In recent years, she passed down this culinary legacy to her great-granddaughter Kaylee by handing over the mixing bowl, a gesture that symbolized both love and continuity. Pat will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose kindness touched many lives. Her gentle spirit and unwavering appreciation for those around her leave behind a legacy of grace and gratitude. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her. Funeral services for Ruth Patricia Autry Lynch will be conducted Friday, August 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Les O'Connell officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. For online condolences please visit www.haistenmcculloughfuneralhome.com.
