Ruth E. (Jacob) Marrocco, 90, of New Britain, beloved wife of the late Anthony Marrocco, passed peacefully on Saturday (August 9, 2025) at home surrounded by family. Ruth and Anthony will be reunited in Heaven for their 70th wedding anniversary this New Year's Eve. She was born in Kingman, ME. on New Year's Eve in 1934 a daughter of the late Lynn and Anna (Boyington) Jacob. Ruth worked for New Britain National Bank and later at Food Mart until her retirement. In her free time, Ruth loved sewing, tending her garden, trying her luck at the casino, and filling her home with the aromas of her cooking and baking. She delighted in visiting friends and relatives often arriving with freshly baked cookies, a cheesecake and fried dough in hand. She leaves behind her three loving daughters, Sandra Marrocco, Janet Chaika and her husband Ron, and Sharon Kraczkowsky; her grandchildren, Ronnie and wife Melissa, Chrissy and husband Vivek, Andrea, Heather, Melissa and husband Scott, Danielle and husband Manny; great grandchildren, Ayden, Emily, Isaac, Riley, Jeremy, Caleb, Talia, Julian, Ariela, Jameson, Daniel, Gia, Juliette, and Lionel. She also leaves many nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and friends. Ruth was predeceased by her 12 siblings, Olive, Burton, Clifford, Richard, Nolan, Louise, Dorothy, Ralph, Millage, Charlotte, Virginia, and Hester.
A funeral service will be held on Friday (August 15, 2025) 11:00 AM at the Shaker-Hill Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave. New Britain. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, 120 Smalley St. New Britain. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday (August 14, 2025) from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
