Ruth Kneavel Mather

Ms. Ruth Kneavel Hill Mather, 79, passed away on September 10, 2025, at the UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL following an extended illness. She is the daughter of the late Melvin Andrew and Clara T Himmel Kneavel she was preceded in death by one brother George Kneavel and one sister Pauline Henson. She had made Live Oak, FL her home since 1965 after moving there from France and lived in Lake City for the past year. She was a member of Rocky sink Baptist Church, and enjoyed reading, bowling, church activities and she especially Loved being a mother and Grandmother, great grandmother.

Ms. Ruth is survived by her children Michael Andrew Hill (Michelle) Gainesville, FL; Dawna Marie Hill, Lake City, FL and Linda Thompson, Live Oak, FL; four grandchildren Joshua Beattie, Jackson Thompson, Maxx Hill and Gracie Hill and two great-grandchildren AnnaMarie Thompson and Trudy Thompson.

A memorial service for Ms. Ruth Kneavel Hill Mather will be conducted on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 6:00 P.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 5:30 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.
