Ruth McPartlin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Clawson on May 6, 2025.
Ruth Mae McPartlin, age 97, of Rochester Hills passed away May 5, 2025 at her home. She was born November 8, 1927 in Scranton, PA to the late Henrietta (Barth) and Thomas Aloysius Caveney. Ruth was the devoted wife of her late husband of 68 years, Raymond. She was the beloved mother of the late Gregory Raymond McPartlin, who died at the age of 23, and Pamela (John) Grier. She is the cherished grandmother of Sean Grier (Derrell Pettiway) and Elizabeth Grier.
Deeply devoted to her family and her faith, Ruth was active in her children's lives both at their schools and in their activities at church and in the community. The same was true with her grandchildren, rarely missing a special event at their schools or in their lives.
Ruth loved her home and was the consummate homemaker. She made their home a special place to return to each day. Ruth always placed family first and was known for her warmth, compassion and thoughtfulness. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Ruth lived in the Troy/Bloomfield area most of her adult life after graduating from Pontiac High School in 1945. She was employed by Michigan Bell Telephone Company in the Engineering and Traffic Departments until her family came along.
In addition to her immediate family, she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Smith Bennett.
Family will receive friends at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 Crooks Rd., Clawson, MI on Monday, May 12 from 4:00-7:00pm. Funeral Services will be held at St. James Episcopal Church, 355 West Maple Road, Birmingham, MI at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 13 with a burial at White Chapel Cemetery immediately following.
Memorials appreciated to St. James.

I will always remember you as a dear lady and mother of my close friend, Greg. I continue to visit the family grave sites at White Chapel at least twice a year; once around Greg´s September 27th birthday and again around December 7th. I can´t imagine the joy you now have being united with our Lord and reunited with Ray and Greg. I´m looking forward to our skiing together again, Greg. Rest in Peace, Ruth.
