Ruth Moody, 76, passed away on August 15, 2025, in Grove, Oklahoma. Born on January 15, 1949, in Seneca, Missouri, Ruth grew up with a strong sense of community and compassion that would define her life. She graduated from Seneca High School and later made her home in Grove, Oklahoma, where she became a familiar and friendly face to many as a longtime cashier at the IGA grocery store. Her warm smile and kind demeanor left a lasting impression on countless customers over the years. In her younger days, Ruth had a deep love for horses and horseback riding and even owned a racehorse-a passion that reflected her spirited nature and love for animals. She also enjoyed crocheting and baking and was famous for her peanut butter cupcakes. In more recent years, she delighted in spoiling her two beloved dogs, who brought her constant companionship and happiness. Those who knew Ruth remember her as sweet and always smiling. She was known for being both strict and loving-a balance that earned the respect and affection of many. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond family; she had a special way of embracing other people's children as if they were her own. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles Goode, 7 siblings and a twin infant daughter. Left to cherish her memory, daughter, Janet Tanner (Roger) of Jay, Ok, sons, Scott Goode (KT) of Tulsa, Ok and Michael Moody of Grove, OK; brother, Allen Wright (Clarissa) of Jolin, MO and niece that was raised as a sister, Betty McDonald, 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Graveside Services will be at 1 pm on Friday, September 5, 2025 at Olympus Cemetery, Grove, Oklahoma.
