Ruth Ann (Pierce) Nicholson, age 84 of Painesville Twp., passed away September 21, 2025 at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland. She was born August 11, 1941 in Painesville to the late Franklin Garfield Pierce and Emma Mae Doebereiner Pierce.

Mrs. Nicholson enjoyed going to garage sales and spending time gardening. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son Dale Henry (Linda Marie) Nicholson Jr., James Euguene Nicholson, Daniel Lee (Patricia Jean "PJ") Nicholson Sr. and her daughter Constance Ann O'Dell; grandchildren Nicole Marie (Frank) Bennington, Melissa Jean Nicholson, Michelle Ann (Jeffrey) Young, Daniel Lee (Heather) Nicholson Jr., Russell David (Tanya) Raymond, Ashley Marie (Steve) Yonchak, Amanda Renee (Robert) Nicholson and Michael Richard (Amanda) Nicholson. She also leaves 22 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her former husband Dale Henry Nicholson Sr., her brothers Arthur, Robert, and Clarence and her sisters Nettie Francis, Helen Seckman, Esther Hood, Betty Lohr, Ethel Wayner and two siblings that passed in infancy.

The family will receive friends Thursday, September 25 from 5 p.m. To 8 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio 44077. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Nicholson residence, next to the cemetery, following the burial.
