Mary V. Nichols

Mary V. Nichols age 101 of Painesville died on September 28, 2025 at her home. She was born on November 23, 1923 in Meadow Creek, WV to the late Joseph and Mary (nee: Baucher) Skof. Mary and her family moved to Lake County in 1930 and she graduated from Harvey High School. She dearly loved her family and friends. She was also an animal lover. Mary could always be found outside tending to her gardens.
She is survived by her daughter; Virginia (Sam Gillette) Barber; daughter-in-law, April (Dennis Harrison) Holden; grandson, James (Annie) Nichols; granddaughter, Katharine (Matthew Hartwig) Nichols; great grandsons, Joseph G. Nichols and Jack K. Nichols; 7 nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews; and several great great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Lee E. Nichols; son, Joseph A. Nichols; and brother, Joseph Skof.
Visitation will be Friday, October 3, 2025 from 10:00am until the funeral service at noon at Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Ave., Painesville, Ohio 44077. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Painesville.
