Loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother Ruth Anne Noe, 89, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2024, after a brief illness with cancer.  Ruth Anne was born January 5, 1935, in Indianapolis, IN, to the late Harold and Ruth Flannery Cook.  She married Robert Noe in May 1954.

Ruth Anne grew up on Pennsylvania Avenue across from St. Roch Church.  She attended St. Roch for elementary school and then graduated from St. Mary’s High School.

After Ruth Anne married Robert (Bob) they moved into their home by Garfield Park where she lived for 70 years.  She raised her children while attending many of their sporting activities, serving as a CDA leader, and being a loving and caring mother and then later grandmother.

She worked for the United States Post Office after her husband became sick to support her family of four children.  Reluctantly, she retired after 40 years at the age of 75 leaving the many good friends she had made over the years.

Following retirement Ruth Anne enjoyed spending more time with her children and grandchildren, taking trips, and working with St. Vincent de Paul at Good Shepherd Church.  As a lifelong member of St. Catherine’s and then Good Shepherd Church, Ruth Anne enjoyed being part of the parish by helping with activities like the prayer line, bible studies, mercy meals, participating in parish events, and helping where needed.

Survivors include her children, Cathy, Karen, Bob (Patsy), and Sandy.  In addition, she is survived by her grandchildren:  Abi, Becky, Emilee, Nick, Aaron, Isabel, Sofie, Monica and 13 great-grandchildren.  She is predeceased by her husband Robert, grandson, Chris and great granddaughters Ambriella and Lilly.  Her late siblings include brothers, Harold, John, and Robert. In addition, she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Ruth will be held on April 1, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2905 Carson Ave, Indianapolis, Indiana 46203. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating her life will take place on April 2, 2024, starting at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Services entrusted to O'Riley-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, 6107 S. East Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent dePaul Society at Good Shepherd.
