Mrs. Ruth Lynn Peagler passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Tuesday October 8, 2024, in the care of her loving family. She was born March 24, 1965, in Passaic, New Jersey and was the daughter of the late Cornelius J. and Evelyn Bertha Slyboon Bakker.
Mrs. Peagler served her country proudly and with honor in the United States Navy, where she was honorably discharged after more than six years of service. She worked in administration for Gastroenterology Associates of Tidewater. She was a member of the United Methodist Church until her health would no longer permit. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all.
The legacy she leaves will be carried forward by her loving husband, Ricardo D. Peagler; their daughter, Clarissa Peagler of Chesapeake, VA; their two sons, Corey J. Peagler of Orange County, CA and T. J. Lewis and wife Marquisha of Hinesville, GA; her sister, Karen Flowers and husband Kenneth; and her brother, Jeff Bakker and fiance', Paula Foster.
The Celebration of her life will be Saturday December 7, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. in The Attic @ Waterman's Surfside Grille, 415 Atlantic Ave., Virginia Beach, VA 23451. Rev. Tom Mercer will officiate. Oman Funeral Home and Crematory, 653 Cedar Rd., Chesapeake, VA are serving Mrs. Peagler's family. Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Navy.
