Ruth Mae Pottier

Ruth Mae Pottier (nee Averell), 91 of Glen Mills, former longtime resident of Ridley Park, died on January 2, 2026. Ruth was the devoted mother of Beth (Ted) Avil and Renee (Joseph) Perri, beloved grandmother of Kristen (Will) Turner, Carolyn (Rob) Campbell, Caleb Perri and Marissa Perri and was special "Mimi" to Rowan and Ellis Turner and Baby Campbell. Born in Philadelphia, Ruth was a graduate of Bartram High School. Ruth and Russ, her husband who predeceased her in death in 2019, were lifelong members of Christ Church Ridley Park. Ruth served on the Christ Church Fair committee, sang in the choir and headed the Flower Guild for many years. She was a consummate crafter, seamstress, knitter and painter. Ruth spent many years creating and teaching ceramics at senior centers and in her home. In later years her passion for sewing produced beautiful clothes for her great grandchildren. She nurtured friends in her community with her homemade soups.

A memorial service will be held at Christ Church Ridley Park,104 Nevin Street, Ridley Park, PA 19078 on Monday, January 26, 2026. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by the service at 11a.m. Interment will be held in the Memorial Garden of the church.
