Evangelist Ruth Raines, 93, of Hartford, Connecticut entered into eternal slumber on Monday, August 29, 2022, at 8:55 a.m. at Riverside Nursing Home. Evangelist Ruth Raines was born on October 29, 1928, and was raised by the late Catherine Williams and La vander Pratt in Lillington, North Carolina. Evangelist Ruth Raines married the late Robert Raines and raised 9 children; 6 boys and 3 girls.
Evangelist Ruth Raines received Christ in her life in 1957. She lived a spiritual life, dedicated to both God and her family. Prior to moving to Connecticut, she lived in Brooklyn, New York were she became a faithful member of the Pentecostal Assembly Church of New York, under the direction of Bishop S.E. Henderson. Here, she grew in the Lord until she was appointed as an Elder. She spent her later years at Pentecostal Assembly Church of Connecticut in Meriden, Connecticut under Pastor Doris Robinson. She was and always will be the rock and cornerstone of this family.
While living in Connecticut, Evangelist Ruth Raines was employed at Riverside Nursing Home as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). She was a faithful and hard worker. She loved God with all of her heart and made sure everyone knew it.
She leaves to celebrate her life, 5 children: Evone Green of Rockhill, South Carolina, Theresa Young and husband Frank of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Tom Raines and his wife Virginia of Hartford, Connecticut, Barry Raines and his wife Marion of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Phyllis Raines of Hartford, Connecticut; as well as a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents, Evangelist Ruth Raines was predeceased by her sons, Wardell Raines, Robert Raines, Jr., Rudolph Raines and Mitchell Raines.
