Ruth Sullivan

Ruth Sullivan (née Dolinar) passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones, following a ten-year odyssey with cancer.

She is survived by her daughters, Lyndsay (Laurent) Kratz and Kelly (Eric) Sullivan Agauas; her cherished grandsons, Jacob Reeves Agauas and Franklin Kratz; and her granddaughter, Emerson Kratz. She is also survived by her brother David, her sister Kathy, her best friend of many years, Lori, as well as extended family, friends, and the many people she helped throughout her career.

Born on September 30, Ruth spent 75 years sharing love, strength, and support, all delivered with her unmistakable blend of spice, intelligence, and wit. A devoted single mother, she earned an advanced college degree in her mid-40s and raised two children following an acrimonious divorce-an embodiment of female courage, resilience, and independence at a time when such paths were neither common nor encouraged. She instilled in her children a deep appreciation for understanding others, celebrating differences, and leading with empathy, even in disagreement.

Ruth pursued the things she loved with determination and joy, continuing to move forward and live fully until her final days. Beautiful, loving, and fiercely strong, she faced life-and illness-with a fighting spirit, offering comfort and kindness infused with her signature sass, sarcasm, and sharp humor. May she rest in peace, deeply loved and forever remembered.

Visitation for Ruth will take place on Friday, February 6, 2026 from 2pm to 8pm and Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 10am until the time of a Funeral Service at 11am at Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, located at 25800 Harper Avenue in St. Clair Shores.
