Ruth Thielemann Linnstaedter Thompson of Houston passed away on September 27, 2025 at the age of 93.

Ruth was born in Brenham on February 1,1932 to Albert Lewis Thielemann and Edna Hueske Thielemann. She enjoyed her life as a homemaker, spending time with her family and friends. She was united in marriage with Vernon Linnstaedter who preceded her in death in 1986. She and Vernon lived and traveled to many countries around the world. She loved to entertain and host family and friends. She never met a stranger, always struck up a conversation with anyone willing to listen. She was also a history buff and loved to share family history and talk about her beloved family. She was one of the first female employees at Texas A & M, typing lab reports. She later married Richard Thompson who died in 2002.

Survivors include her son, John D. Linnstaedter of Houston; daughter, Janet Linnstaedter Haynes of Johnson City; grandchildren, Crystal Diane (Jason) Rhodes and Travis John (Jennifer) Linnstaedter and great-grandchildren, Michelle (Caleb) Warmack, Lauren Rhodes, Trent Rhodes, Logan Rhodes, Theo Linnstaedter and Riley Linnstaedter.

Preceding her in death were her parents; Albert & Edna Thielemann; husband, Vernon Linnstaedter; second husband, Richard Thompson; brother, Albert Thielemann and Vernon’s parents, Herbert W. and Henrietta Linnstaedter; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Herbert and Gladyola Linnstaedter.

A Memorial Service for Ruth will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, October 3, 2025 at Kinsmen Lutheran Church, 12100 Champion Forest Dr., Houston. Following the service in Houston, the family will receive friends and relatives at Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main St., Brenham from 12:00 PM until 1:15 PM with the burial to follow at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery of Gay Hill, 8201 Old Gay Hill Road.

Serving as pallbearers will be Travis Linnstaedter, Jason Rhodes, Caleb Warmack, Greg Pitcock, T. J. Covine and Bill Harris.

Memorial Contributions may be directed to Kinsman Lutheran Church, 12100 Champion Forest Dr., Houston, TX 77066 or St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 8201 Old Gay Hill Rd., Brenham, TX 77833.
