Joanne Windham entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, peacefully and surrounded by her loving family on September 25, 2025, following a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Born on January 11, 1953, in Houston, Texas, to Fred and Irene Lueckemeyer, Joanne was a proud graduate of Milby High School and went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from the University of Houston.

Joanne met the love of her life, Joe Windham, at Willie Nelson's Fourth of July Picnic in 1973, and they were married on December 28, 1975 in Houston, TX. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised two children, Jeanelle and Ross. Their weekends were filled with sporting events, poultry shows, family road trips, and countless moments of laughter and love. Joanne beamed with pride as both of her children attended Texas A&M University. She was a devoted Aggie fan through every win and loss.

Professionally, Joanne spent much of her career as a gas marketer with BHP Petroleum. After a successful career, she and Joe retired to the Texas Hill Country, where she embraced the peace and beauty of nature. She loved reading, watching hummingbirds, and capturing the perfect sunset photo to share with friends and family. Her phone was filled with snapshots of skies painted in gold and lavender.

Joanne cherished family traditions-especially during the holidays. She lovingly prepared her signature gelatin salad and passed down her canning skills to her grandsons, teaching them how to make the best dill pickles and stewed tomatoes. She also enjoyed a nice glass of wine and enjoyed sharing her knowledge while working part-time at Grape Creek Winery in Fredericksburg, where she formed many lasting friendships.

One of her favorite places on Earth was Estes Park, Colorado. Each summer, she and Joe would vacation there, creating treasured memories with their children and grandchildren-hiking scenic trails, spotting wildlife, and soaking in the breathtaking landscape.

Above all, Joanne's greatest joy was her family-especially her grandsons, Reid and Wyatt. Known affectionately as "GG," she was their biggest cheerleader, always cheering them on at a soccer, baseball, or basketball game. She was especially proud to see them participate in the Washington County Fair, showing chickens and entering canned goods they had made together.

Joanne is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Joe Windham; her daughter, Jeanelle Windham and Brad Brundage; her son, Ross Windham and wife Meghan; and her cherished grandsons, Reid and Wyatt Windham. She is also survived by her brothers, Darrell and Steve Lueckemeyer, and their wives, Susie and Julie; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Kendall County EMS or Blue Bonnet Palliative Care.

A visitation will be held on Monday September 29, 2025 from 5-7pm at Memorial Oaks Chapel located at 1306 West Main Street, Brenham Texas.
