Ruth Doreen Wian
Of Mount Laurel, NJ passed away suddenly on June 23, 2024. She was 74 years old. Beloved daughter of the late Theodore and Miriam (nee Keen) Wian. Dear sister of the late Virginia Wian and Carl Wian, his wife Eileen, their children and grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved friend Norma Baloche, her husband Maurice and their family.
Ruth grew up in Voorhees, NJ and attended Haddonfield High School, transferring to Eastern High School when it opened, and graduating in 1968. She received her Master's degree from Neumann University. Ruth worked as a medical secretary at Cherry Hill Hospital, then for the office of Dr. Saul Bresalier, DO and later she worked at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM). for over 30 years, retiring in 2018 as the Assistant to the Dean.
For 32 years, Ruth was a force of goodness at PCOM. She dedicated herself to the Office of the Dean/Provost, working with unwavering diligence and unmatched passion until her retirement in 2018. Ruth's commitment to excellence was evident in everything she touched. Her meticulous attention to detail shone through in every project she undertook, from planning Commencement dinner dances to managing office affairs. Ruth set a standard of perfection that inspired everyone Ruth's legacy at PCOM is one of dedication, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to making their community a better place.
She was a member of Wiley Church in Marlton and volunteered in a number of capacities at the church. She traveled extensively, with her favorite destinations being Russia, England, Japan, Ireland, the African continent and the Christmas markets in Germany.
Family and friends are invited to her viewing 9:30-11am on Friday June 28 at Wiley Church, 99 E. Main St., Marlton. A Service celebrating her life will be held at 11am at the church. Burial with her beloved family will be private.
