Charles C Wian

Charles C. Wian, 90, of Boalsburg, entered into his eternal rest on Monday, December 2, 2024. Born on February 1, 1934, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Willard F. and Alice B. (Jessop) Wian. On April 23, 1954, at the Weaver Methodist Church in Bellefonte, he married Sarah E. Benner, who preceded him in death in December of 2016.
Charlie graduated from Bellefonte Area High School in 1952. He started his career at Penn State University working in the dairy barns until 1970, when he transferred to the Ag Turf Research Department where he worked for numerous years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed lawn care and took extreme pride in it. He was over joyed to have taught his sons and grandsons the tricks of the trade.
Charlie was an avid Penn State sports fan. He enjoyed lawn care and continued as much as he could up until 2 weeks prior to his passing. He was a quiet, reserved, and stoic man. His children remember him as a dad that never raised his voice and was not easily angered. He loved his family more than anything and took pride in each and every one of them.
Charlie is survived by one daughter, Melissa Quick (John) of State College, Marlin Wian (Gayle) of Delaware, and Michael Wian (Michele) of Reedsville; nine grandchildren, Alexandra Wian, Christine Wian, Jessica Sword (Travis), Andrew Wian (Vickie), Skylor Wian, Evan Wian (Emily), Tyler Quick (ToryLynne), Toby Quick, and Parker Quick; 12 great grandchildren; one brother, Hubert Wian (Bonnie); one sister, Marjorie Dugan (Bruce); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his wife and parents, Charlie was preceded in death by two siblings, Earl Wian and Beatrice Simco.
Following Charlie's wishes, all services will be private. He will be laid to rest next to his wife at Meyer Cemetery.
