Ruth Wrubbel Obituary

Surrounded on her last day by her loving family, Ruth Ann Wrubbel passed away early Sunday morning, December 7, 2025 after a long struggle with many health issues.
Born on January 10, 1936 to Edward and Anna Pirwitz (nee Kaiser), Ruth grew up in Milwaukee and graduated with the January 1953 class of Rufus King High School. She made many lifelong friends as a member of Job's Daughters since her teens.
Married to Richard Wrubbel on October 11, 1958 at Incarnation Lutheran Church (ELCA) in Milwaukee, Ruth and Richard celebrated their 67th Anniversary this year.
Ruth was a member of Stone Bank Lion's Club for over 40 years organizing the Stone Bank Fourth of July Parade and serving as the President of the Lioness Club. As a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church (ELCA), Stone Bank, WI, Ruth served in many leadership capacities including as the President of the congregation and the Women of the ELCA. She enjoyed serving on the worship committee and was a frequent worship assistant on Sunday mornings. Ruth also volunteered with the Hartford Senior Friends. At Cedar Community she was known for being friendly and welcoming to everyone she met, especially new residents.
Ruth will be sadly missed by her husband Richard, her children Julie Wrubbel-Lange (Larry Lange), Paul Wrubbel, Karen Wrubbel-Kunschke (Jason), grandchildren John Wrubbel, Katherine Lange, Noah Lange (Justina), Elizabeth Lange, Clare Kunschke, Tessa Ruth Kunschke, great-grandchildren Jackson and Carmen Wrubbel, and another on the way, brother-in-law Allen (Lauran) Wrubbel, sister-in-law Linda Wrubbel, nieces and nephews, and by her many friends at Cedar Community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her father- and mother-in-law Frank and Clara Wrubbel, her sister Carol Jean Moyle, infant son Todd, and granddaughter Sarah Wrubbel.
Ruth's family is grateful for the caring staff of Willows at Cedar Community.
There will be a joint visitation for Ruth and Richard on Wednesday December 17th from 9:30am-11:00 am at St. John's Lutheran Church in Stone Bank WI. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am with burial and lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers monetary donations can be made to St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery Association.
