Ryan Patrick Chapman ("Chappy"), 30, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Metro Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 15, 1994, Ryan was the beloved son of Ned Chapman and Carrie Turjan. Growing up, Ryan was a passionate hockey player and made lifelong friends. He graduated from Garfield Heights High School in 2013. Ryan was heavily involved with addiction treatment, residential treatment, and outpatient programs for substance abuse disorders at the Stella Maris facility in Cleveland. Ryan began his sobriety on December 1, 2021. Since then, Ryan's family reports he was the happiest, most prosperous in life, and made the greatest friends. Ryan highly valued all his relationships with sponsors and sponsees. Ryan was known for his infectious smile, generous spirit, and commitment to helping others. Ryan was survived by his father Ned Chapman (Regina Chapman); mother Carrie Turjan (Jeff Wurtz); brother Jason Humphreys; sister Mackenzie Chapman; aunts Tracie Chapman, Tracy Turjan (Mike Sole), and Sarah Kuzia (Robert Wiatrowski); uncle Joshua Moore; grandparents Georgeanne [Mamaw] Moore, Vaughn [Papaw] Moore, and Sally Cicero (Bill Cicero); cousins; friends; Stella Maris family; and Ryan's fiancé, Taylor Briggs. Ryan is also lovingly remembered by his former stepfather, Jack Humphreys, who helped raise him during his early years. Ryan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dianne VanNiel and Al Chapman, and his brother, David Eck.
