Ryan Hunt Obituary

Ryan Thomas Hunt, 45, passed away on March 7, 2026, at his home. He was born on August 25, 1980, to Richard (Katie) Hunt and Rhonda (Jim) McCammon. Ryan grew up surrounded by family and friends who would come to know him as someone dependable, hardworking, and always willing to lend a hand whenever it was needed.

A 1999 graduate of Crothersville High School, Ryan built a life rooted in his hometown and the people he loved most. On March 23, 2002, he married the love of his life, Kara J. Hunt, at the Crothersville United Methodist Church. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and pride in their two sons, Ean Hunt and Evan (Rachel McDonald) Hunt.

Ryan worked as a Maintenance Tech at Idemitsu Lubricants in Jeffersonville, IN, where his strong work ethic and practical skills served him well. Outside of work, he was the kind of person who was happiest when he was busy taking care of things at home. Whether it was working outside, fixing something that needed attention, or helping someone else with a project, Ryan had a way of making himself useful and doing it with quiet pride.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, golfing, fishing, and collecting sport cards. More than anything, Ryan loved being there for the people around him. If something needed fixing, especially for Grandma Bonnie, Ryan was always the one you could count on.

Ryan is survived by his loving wife, Kara J. (Sturgeon) Hunt; his sons, Ean Hunt and Evan (Rachel McDonald) Hunt; his father, Richard (Katie) Hunt; his mother, Rhonda Seal (Jim) McCammon; his siblings, Rhea Heather (Roger) Quillen, Richie (Hollie Hagen) Hunt, Rachel (Curtis) Haines, and Wendi (Derek) Turner; his brothers-in-law, Jordan (Kristen) Koerner and Nathan (Hannah) Sturgeon; his grandma-in-law, Bonnie Masters; his in-laws, Mike & Debbie Sturgeon and Ed & Tammy Koerner; several nephews; and his loyal furry companions, Annie & Lucy.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Milum & Joann Seal and Thelma Cheatham.

Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Randy King on Monday, March 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville, IN.

Family and friends may visit on Sunday, March 15, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Monday, March 16, from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
