It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved son, Ryan James Kobylinski, on June 13, 2024, at his home in Hatteras, NC, at thirty six years young.
Left to cherish Ryan's memory are his parents, Jim and Andrea Kobylinski; his precious children, Hadley Rose Elizabeth Kobylinksi and Bentley Jamison Kobylinski of Frisco, NC, and Bowen Ray Olvey of Newport, NC; and the mother of his children, Madison Hershberger. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many childhood friends who loved him dearly.
Ryan was born on New Year's Eve 1987 in Elizabeth City, NC. He lived on Hatteras Island all of his life and was a Hatteras boy and Southsider through and through. Ryan graduated from Cape Hatteras Secondary School in 2006. He went on to attend Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, NC, where he received an associate's of arts degree, a degree in welding, and a certificate in welding technology manufacturing. At home in Hatteras, his favorite places of employment were Gringos Tacos and Frisco Mini Golf. Ryan also enjoyed selling Pokemon cards on Ebay. Ryan attended Hatteras Assembly of God Church with his children and parents.
Ryan was a good soul with a beautiful smile, and he truly had a kind and brave spirit. He was an intelligent and creative writer. He was very athletic, good at any sports, be it surfing, skateboarding, basketball, or soccer. He had a competitive spirit even with his children. He loved swimming, driving on the beach, and riding his bike looking for Pokémon.
Ryan was most proud of being a daddy. He loved his children with all of his heart. They were his life. He loved giving them piggyback rides, taking walks with them in the neighborhood, laughing and talking with them, cooking up concoctions, catching dragonflies and butterflies and releasing them, taking them to the beach, making up songs, building a treehouse, and snuggling with them. Ryan's children amazed him with their innocence, creativity, and most importantly their unconditional love.
Please join us in a celebration of Ryan's life on Monday, July 22 at 2 PM at the Hatteras Assembly of God Church, 57343 Eagle Pass Rd., Hatteras NC. A paddle out ceremony is being planned for a later date to honor Ryan.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Ryan to Outer Banks Teen Challenge. (https://www.outerbanksdarechallenge.org, PO Box 123, Wanchese, NC 27981)
