Ryan Lansing Edward Long, 45, passed away August 9, 2025, in Springfield, IL. Surviving are his sisters Carrie (Shane) Richardson, Springfield. Kelly Long, Springfield and Meaghan (Donald) Neice, Jacksonville. Nieces and nephews, Keenan and Kennedy Richardson, Colby and Chase Neice. Aunts and Uncles, Mike Ryan, Chandlerville, Martha Ryan, Springfield, Theresa Flinn, Havana and Sonny and Liz Buchanan, Hazard KY, as well as many beloved cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Steve and Maureen Long, grandparents, Edward and Aldyth Long, Lee and Rita Ryan, along with his namesake great uncle Lansing Lynn. Ryan grew up in Chandlerville, IL. He graduated from AC Central High School in Ashland IL in 1999. He attended MTI and received his underwater welding certification. After travelling from one coast to the other and working for several tree and storm companies, he joined Spencer Olson Trucking, in the fall of 2016. This is where he found his storm family who affectionately called him Longbeard! When he wasn't working on a storm, he called Whitehall, WI his home. He loved the work he did, he started as a groundman and later became a Grapple Truck Operator. He was a simple man, who loved music (especially Nirvana and Pearl Jam) and very much treasured his guitar, Marshall. He loved the Chicago Bears, He loved to fish, mushroom hunt, and enjoy a good campfire. He enjoyed playing bags and sand volleyball with his friends at Shari's. And he always looked forward to a good ride on his Harley, Marvin. His favorite thing to do was spend time with his family in IL. If he wasn't in Illinois, you could find him with his other family, Luke, Amigo, Ernie, Damien, Spencer and Al. He never met a stranger and often the strangers he met became his friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 13, 2025, 2pm, Spencer Olson Trucking, W17880 Duebbert Ln, Whitehall, WI. A Celebration will also be held at a later date in Chandlerville, IL.
