Ryan Joseph Tolbird, a beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, and faithful friend, passed away on March 15, 2025, in the Society Hill Community of Jefferson Davis County.
A Celebration of Life service will be held in Atoka, TN at a later date. Saulters Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
Ryan, age 36, was born on March 27, 1988 in Metairie, LA to his parents, Randy and Becky. Ryan worked as a sales associate in the home improvement industry. His family will never forget how Ryan instinctively placed the needs of his family and friends above his own. He truly embodied the essence of selflessness, often dropping everything to be there for those he loved.
In his personal life, Ryan was a gentle giant with an immense love for his family. His ability to support and nurture those around him created a lasting impact on their lives. Ryan was not only an attentive family member but also someone who cherished the friendships he built over the years.
In addition to being devoted to his loved ones, Ryan had a passion for technology and gaming. He enjoyed building computers and was an avid gamer, taking delight in a hobby combining creativity and innovation. Ryan was of the Christian faith.
Ryan is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Melvin and Barbara Tolbird, and his step-mother, Suzette Tolbird.
His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those that loved him most; his mother and step-father, Scott and Becky Sylve of Buras, LA; father, Randy Tolbird of Society Hill; maternal grandparents, Preston and Lois Morris of Buras, LA; sister, Erika Rush (Anthony) of Memphis; brother, Randy Tolbird, II of Covington, TN, step-sisters, Catheryn Hernandez (Ulysses) of Houma, LA and Alaina Sylve of Charleston, SC and his step-brother, Luke Sylve of North Carolina. Ryan also leaves behind his nieces and nephew that he adored, Carrie Rush, Kylie Tolbird, and Brenden Taylor Tolbird.
Ryan will be remembered fondly for his immense heart, kind spirit, and the countless lives he positively influenced. He leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to resonate within the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
