L.V., age 88, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022. He was a resident of Hammond, LA. L.V. proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was an extremely hard worker who dedicated many years as a Heavy Equipment Operator. L.V. took great pride in providing for his family and always made sure they did not go without. He enjoyed spending time in his garden and visiting with friends at the coffee shop. L.V. was most happy surrounded by his family and absolutely loved going on family vacations. He adored his wife and children but had a special place in his heart for all of his grandbabies. L.V. left a huge impact on all who knew him and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Martha Farmer Tolbird; daughters, Linda Cardona (Eloy), Rebecca Dominique, Sarah Adcock (Craig), Roxie Martinez (Sonny), Melanie Walch (Ken); son, Larry Tolbird; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
L.V. Is preceded in death by his parents, William and Nancy Tolbird; sisters, Dottie Bush, Gladys Williams; and brother, William Douglas Tolbird.
Pallbearers: Jeremy Dominique, Don Dominique, Bradley Walch, William Walch, John Maikell, and Rick Lerille.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to woundedwarheros.org in LV's name.
DENHAM SPRINGS, LA.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 7738 Florida Blvd. Denham Springs, LA 70726 on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at LA National Cemetery in Zachary at 2:00 p.m.
