Sabita Chakrabarty Bose has passed away from the earth and returned to the heavenly abode on June 29th 2025.
Her life was dedicated to the service of others. Born in Kolkata, India in 1952 to Konika Misra Chakrabarty and Sudha Ranjan Chakrabarty she was the fourth of eventually six children. She graduated from Jogamaya Devi College in Kolkata with a degree in humanities and married Arun Kumar Bose with whom they had one son Ayan.
Her favorite movie was The Sound of Music, which she saw in the cinema growing up and made a point to watch at least once a year. Dedicated to being a great mother, wife, coworker, and puja community member she could always be counted on to provide support to anyone in ways ranging from her famous home cook meals (in particular, her macher chop never failed to impress) to childcare. She was a great listener, and always available as a sounding board and to provide advice.
She is survived by her son Ayan Bose, brothers Pankaj Chakrabarty, Pranab Chakrabarty, and Pradip Chakrabarty, sisters Anita Ghosh and Sumita Dutta, in-laws, cousins, and all who she met.
Sabita’s services will be from 11:30-12:30P Wednesday July 2, 2025 in the Chapel of Rosehill Cemetery Crematory, US Hwy. 1 & 9, Linden, NJ. Arrangements by Gray Funeral Home, Cranford, NJ.
